What is a market barrel?

Market Barrel is a receptacle which holds trash ie. paper food wrappers that are often discarded as litter. It does not include household garbage or other residential trash which is picked up in our residential trash and recycling operations. Market barrels are placed on a different collection schedule and are often misused as "household or illegal dumping" containers. When that happens, neighbors and small business owners ask for the market barrels to be removed.
